Article Marketing: How to Use it to Boost Your SEO Rankings

If you’ve started to work on moving your website up in the search engine rankings, you’ve probably found out that one of the hardest challenges is building back links. A back link, for any beginner scanning this article, is a link from another website to your company’s website. Google and the other search engines view this link as a website pointing to your site and pronouncing “there’s some good stuff over there, go and have a look at it.” In other words, it’s a vote of confidence.

It used to be, in the good old days of the Internet, you could just exchange links with other websites. But Google’s on to that and it doesn’t count any more. When 2 websites link to each other, the links cancel each other out. So you have to find other methods to create back links.

A technique to do this is article marketing. With article marketing you write content that’s useful to your target market, and then publish it for use on assorted article directories and blogs. Article publishers reward you for providing content by including links back to your site. And you can establish what these links say. So if you’d like to move up the search engine rankings for ‘copywriting for SEO,’ you make that one of your links. As well as being able to put a link in the article, there is usually a resource box at the end of the article where add a quick promotion for your organization. In addition, you can put a couple of links in that resource box.

So you get about 3 links back to your website. For the best results, have them link to different pages you wish to optimize. This helps you to build multiple links to your website and optimize several keyword phrases at the same time.

Bonus tip: Link to your articles from social media websites like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. More prospects will read your content and some will click on the links to pay your website a visit.

Use these tips and do it yourself, or outsource the work to an experienced website copywriter.
